Marketing With A Heart
One of the many things that tends to confuse people is that, when you're working on a screen rather than paper, you don't think in terms of inches (or even picas for you print folks...). Instead we tend to think in terms of pixels (and if you're into web design the "em").
Given that the ITSM Email Blasts are based upon a page being about 800 pixels wide (actually 750 pixels) by 1000 pixels long I figured that it might be useful to see what this would look like on screen.
Why 750 pixels wide (rather than 800)? Because as of September 2007 about 15% of the people visiting the website were still using an 800x600 resolution for their screen size (as compared to some other websites I own where it's less than 5% — John). When that drops below 8%, we'll increase the size.
Full Page: This blue box is just short of 800 pixels wide and 1000 pixels high.
This website is 780 pixels wide, for example.
Half Page: This white box is 400 pixels wide and 500 pixels high.
Quarter Page: This gold box is 200 pixels wide and 250 pixels high.
Half Page: This light green box is 500 pixels wide and 400 pixels high.
Quarter Page: This tan box is 250 pixels wide and 200 pixels high.
